Türkiye-Russia Middle East consultations to be held in Istanbul on April 25

Deputy foreign ministers from Türkiye and Russia will meet in Istanbul on Friday for consultations on Middle East affairs, according to sources from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Representing Türkiye will be Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Nuh Yilmaz, while Russia will be represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.

Syria and Palestine to top agenda

The meeting is expected to include a comprehensive exchange of views on regional developments, with a primary focus on Syria and Palestine. Both sides are scheduled to assess ongoing issues and bilateral perspectives on the evolving political landscape in the Middle East.

Türkiye values dialogue with Russia on regional affairs

“Consultations on the Middle East between Türkiye and the Russian Federation at the deputy foreign ministers level will take place in Istanbul on April 25, 2025,” a source from the Turkish Foreign Ministry told TASS.

“Türkiye will be represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nuh Yilmaz, and the Russian side will be represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Bogdanov. A comprehensive exchange of ideas is expected on regional issues, particularly concerning Syria and Palestine,” the source added.

“The Russian Federation is a country with which Türkiye attaches great importance to consultations, especially in the context of developments in the Middle East,” the same official also emphasized.
