Card-based tourism spending in Türkiye approached $30.7 billion in the January-October 2025 period, according to figures compiled by Tourism Databank from data published by the Interbank Card Center (BKM). The total was reported as up 14.1% compared with the same period of 2024, when spending stood at $26.9 billion.
BKM is Türkiye’s central industry body that tracks and reports card payment data, and the figures referenced here reflect tourism-related spending made via bank cards and credit cards.
Within the tourism basket, the strongest increase was recorded in accommodation, the compilation said. Hotel spending made by credit card climbed 22% year-over-year, reaching $10.1 billion in the first 10 months of 2025.
The figures point to a stronger accommodation line within overall tourism spending during the period, even as consumers continued booking stays through card payments.
In contrast, air ticket spending fell 3% year-over-year to $7.8 billion in January-October 2025, according to the same data compilation.
Spending on online tourism services made with domestic and foreign cards rose 15.6% to $15.5 billion. The category was described as covering digital-platform purchases such as hotel bookings, tours, car rentals and flight reservations.
Overall, the data suggests card payments are taking up a growing role in tourism transactions in Türkiye, while digital channels continue to gain ground in how travel services are purchased.
