Türkiye's largest electricity distribution company, Enerjisa Energy, announced on Wednesday another record bond issue to finance its investments in energy transformation in Türkiye.

With a maturity of 726 days and a value of ₺5.25 billion ($129.70 million), the transaction is the largest bond issue ever made by the real sector in Türkiye.

Following the successful issuance, Enerjisa Energy's total outstanding bond amount reached ₺35.935 billion ($888.10 million).

Enerjisa had also set a record with its ₺4.8 billion bond issuance in February. With this new issuance, the company has once again broken its own record within the 2025 timeframe.

Enerjisa pushes toward sustainable energy transition

Enerjisa Energy CEO Murat Pinar highlighted that the record bond issue not only strengthened the company's financial position but also contributed to Türkiye's sustainable energy infrastructure.

“The energy transformation that Türkiye needs means creating a more digital, greener, and more inclusive energy ecosystem,” said Pinar, continuing:
“With this funding, we are not only modernizing our distribution network but also accelerating our investments focused on digitalization and energy efficiency. We are focused on building not only today's but also tomorrow's energy needs.”

Strong financial confidence reflects on record demand

Enerjisa Energy CFO Philipp Ulbrich stated in his assessment of the record bond issue that this was the second transaction of this magnitude in the same year.

“With this issuance, which has a maturity of 726 days and a value of ₺5.25 billion, we have broken the record for the largest bond issuance ever made on behalf of the real sector in Türkiye's capital markets for the second time this year,” said Ulbrich, noting that the favorable pricing of the transaction also represents an important milestone in local currency financing.

Ulbrich added, “The strong demand for our new bond is a clear indication of the confidence in Enerjisa's strong performance, both in financial markets and among investors.”

Record-breaking bond highlights Turkish private sector strength

Ak Investment General Manager Mert Erdogmus stated that their successful collaborations with Enerjisa Energy have made significant contributions to Türkiye's capital markets.

“With the ₺4.8 billion bond issuance we completed on February 10, 2025, we achieved the largest real sector bond issuance record of all time,” said Erdogmus, adding that the latest transaction, worth ₺5.25 billion with a 726-day maturity, has broken this record.

Erdogmus commented, “As Ak Investment, we are continuing our leadership in private sector debt instrument issuances without interruption. The strategic transactions we are conducting with Enerjisa provide an important scale for capital markets and also present a strong model for the real sector's access to financing.”

Founded in 1996, the company underwent restructuring in 2009 through a partnership between Sabanci Holding and German E.ON, entering a period of growth. Enerjisa Energy, which is publicly traded on the Türkiye's stock exchange, Borsa Istanbul (ENJSA), conducts its operations through its wholly-owned distribution and retail companies.
