A Turkish manufacturer has delivered 25 prefabricated cabins to Conakry Port, Guinea's largest seaport, as part of infrastructure improvements at the West African maritime gateway.
Karmod, a modular building company based in Türkiye, announced Friday that it had produced and shipped the office and security cabins for use at the port facility in Guinea's capital.
The prefabricated units will serve as security posts, administrative offices and information points at the strategic Atlantic port, which handles 12.5 million tons of cargo annually across its 271,000 square meters of space.
"We are proud to have our structures selected for one of West Africa's most strategic Atlantic gateways," said Zekai Kucuk, general manager of Karmod Cabin. "We offer practical building solutions with our ready-to-use cabins that eliminate lengthy construction phases."
The cabins were manufactured using Karmod's Composite Thermoset Polyester model, designed for year-round durability in challenging climates. The company produced two sizes: smaller 150x270 centimeter units for security and information booths, and larger 270x390 centimeter structures for office use.
All units came fully equipped with electrical installations and were transported directly to the port via sea freight.
Kucuk emphasized the mobility advantages of the modular approach for port operations. "Thanks to their mobility and ergonomic design, our cabins are ideal for high-traffic areas like ports, where they can be easily relocated when needed," he said.
Conakry Port features a 1,750-meter quay and serves as a crucial trade hub for the region. The facility will use the Turkish-made cabins for long-term security, administrative and public information functions, according to the company.
The project represents part of ongoing infrastructure development at Guinea's primary maritime facility, which handles the bulk of the country's international trade.
