Turkish tourism set for new records as early foreign bookings rise 20%

As early bookings from international visitors to Türkiye rise by 20%, the country’s tourism industry is gearing up for another record-breaking year, according to Mehmet Isler, vice president of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TUROFED).
With the early booking season in full swing—allowing tourists to secure more affordable stays at their preferred accommodations—Isler told Anadolu Agency that Türkiye has become a globally competitive tourism destination.
Reminding Türkiye’s goal of increasing average daily tourist spending to between $120 and $130, Isler said “We can already see that 2025 will be another record year for Turkish tourism, as it has been in previous years.”

‘Safe, stable, and peaceful destination’
Pointing to the importance of stability, Isler emphasized that Türkiye’s peaceful environment and diplomatic success play a key role in attracting visitors.
“One of the most critical factors behind this record-breaking trend is the peaceful atmosphere surrounding our country, Türkiye’s effective foreign policy, and, most importantly, its reputation as a safe, stable, and peaceful destination,” he said.
Isler also noted that Türkiye aims to welcome 100 million tourists and generate $100 billion in tourism revenue by 2030. However, he predicted that the country could reach this milestone as early as 2028.
“Turkish tourism is not just about sun, sea, and sand; it is also making a name for itself in health tourism, highland tourism, cultural experiences, and gastronomy,” he added.
