Of the total figure, 11,683,195 devices were mobile phones. These were recorded under Türkiye’s IMEI-based tracking system, which is administered by the BTK.
The minister stated that the system ensures all mobile devices are officially registered and monitored through their IMEI numbers.
According to the data shared:
Officials emphasized that imported and domestically produced devices accounted for the overwhelming majority of registrations.
Uraloglu also reported that a total of 29,747,029 IMEI registrations were processed during the year, reflecting the scale of device tracking and regulatory enforcement in the telecommunications sector.
The minister further stated that the majority of registered mobile devices consisted of smartphones. Samsung and Apple were identified as the most commonly registered brands, while Redmi, Oppo, Tecno, Reeder, Infinix, Realme, and TCL were also included among recorded manufacturers.
Under Türkiye’s regulations, all imported or domestically manufactured mobile devices must be registered with their IMEI numbers. Devices brought from abroad must be registered within 120 days, or they are subject to network restriction.
