Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines has signed a multi-year global partnership with English powerhouse Chelsea Football Club, becoming the Premier League team’s official airline for both the men’s and women’s squads.
According to a statement, the Turkish carrier said the partnership will help strengthen its communication in priority international markets through campaigns and initiatives linked to Chelsea’s global visibility, offering a way to reach both football fans and international travelers.
The partnership is expected to roll out through joint campaigns, branded content, and outreach targeting both football supporters and international travelers.
Chelsea described the deal as part of the Turkish carrier's global branding efforts, saying that football’s broad appeal offers a platform to strengthen recognition in markets outside Türkiye. The club also noted Pegasus’ focus on digital accessibility and its efforts to make travel more affordable, stating that these factors helped establish common ground for cooperation.
"Pegasus Airlines' progress in recent years speaks for itself; their vision to transform the aviation industry and unlock the possibility of travel to so many is inspiring," Oliver Boden, partnership sales director for Chelsea Football Club, said. "We are proud to partner with Pegasus at this exciting time, to support them in the next stage of their journey and build a unique partnership together."
Onur Dedekoylu, Pegasus Airlines’ chief commercial officer, said the company plans to launch new marketing initiatives built around the club’s visibility and worldwide following with the partnership.
"The United Kingdom is also an important market for us, with services to five destinations and further growth planned," Dedekoylu explained. "This partnership brings together two brands driven by ambition, energy and connection, and we look forward to working with Chelsea FC to create special campaigns and meaningful experiences for supporters and travellers alike."
Founded in 1990 and restructured under ESAS Holding in 2005, Pegasus is Türkiye's first low-cost airline, focused on providing more affordable flights for customers. The airline flies to 158 destinations in 55 countries with a fleet of 130 aircraft, generating ₺111.82 billion ($3.41 billion) in revenue in 2024. The deal with Chelsea follows the Turkish carrier's acquisition of the Czechia-based Smartwings Group for €154 million ($179.6 million) in early December, as part of its overseas expansion strategy.
