Millions of Muslims around the world celebrated Eid al-Fitr on Wednesday as they performed the particular prayer associated with the day in large congregations.

Muslims from Jakarta to Istanbul to Berlin, gathered in the early hours of the morning to perform the Eid al-Fitr prayer, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Eid al-Fitr, often referred to as the festival of breaking the fast, is a time for Muslims to come together in celebration, gratitude and unity.
