Türkiye's OGM Pictures and Spain's Grupo Ganga have signed a strategic partnership today to develop premium scripted projects across both nations.
This collaboration focuses on building a slate of series for linear broadcasters and global streaming platforms.
Both companies plan to blend their storytelling traditions to create authentic narratives with global appeal.
OGM Pictures has expanded its global footprint rapidly since its launch in 2019.
The Turkish production house maintains a strong portfolio of Netflix hits, including "The Gift," "The Tailor," and "Paper Lives." This alliance with Grupo Ganga marks a significant step in its international strategy.
OGM recently established an international division and hired Berna Levin as its head of international production. Levin brings experience from high-profile projects like "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" and "The Playlist."
The partnership specifically targets high-end content:
Grupo Ganga holds a prominent position in the Spanish market as the studio behind "Remember When," the longest-running primetime series in Spain.
Founder and general manager Miguel Angel Bernardeau believes the union multiplies the creative capacity of his team.
"This union is not just an addition of teams; it is the multiplication of our creative capacity," Bernardeau stated. He noted that the companies are now in a privileged position to tackle larger-scale projects and international complexity.
OGM Pictures chief executive Onur Guvenatam also expressed optimism about the cultural exchange.
"Bringing together different storytelling traditions creates new opportunities for layered and compelling narratives," Guvenatam said. He noted that the collaboration reflects an ambition to develop stories that travel across borders while staying authentic to their roots.
The partnership stems from a shared ambition to blend distinct narrative sensibilities and production approaches.
Two companies aim to create stories that feel both "locally authentic and internationally scalable." OGM Pictures previously initiated other major international projects, including a partnership with Italian firms like Wildside and Fandango.
That alliance aims to produce a Turkish adaptation of "My Brilliant Friend," and the project remains in the advanced script stage. This latest deal with Grupo Ganga further solidifies the role of Türkiye as a central player in the global television market.
Squirrel Studios CEO Santiago Gimeno emphasized the strength of this creative union. He described Grupo Ganga as a pillar of Squirrel Studios and stated that combining their team with OGM Pictures guarantees success.
Esther Sanchez serves as the head of international strategy at Grupo Ganga. Sanchez added that the partnership creates an exciting opportunity to build impactful stories for a global audience.
