Türkiye participated as the guest of honor at the Oman International Exhibition and Forum (OMNEX) in Muscat, where Ottoman palace culture was introduced through fashion and traditional rituals.
The “Pearls of the Palace” fashion show by Samsun Maturation Institute featured reproductions of 16th–19th century Ottoman palace garments reflecting imperial court life.
The collection included designs representing Ottoman dynasty members, the harem, Janissaries, princes and sultans, highlighting the diversity of palace attire.
Each costume was prepared following approximately 3.5 years of historical research and meticulous handcraftsmanship, drawing attention with its period-specific details.
The event also featured a reenactment of the traditional Anatolian henna night ritual, showcasing long-standing wedding customs accompanied by traditional music.
The exhibition area featured handcrafted works highlighting Anatolian textile traditions and ornamental techniques preserved by the institute.
Visitors were introduced to a wide range of traditional crafts, reflecting the cultural heritage and artisanal knowledge passed down through generations.
In addition to the fashion show, various traditional items produced, including regional garments, woven textiles, embroidery pieces, kitre dolls and kazaziye accessories, were presented to visitors.
