Meteorologists warned that Türkiye will experience unstable conditions on Sept. 6–7, with rain and storms affecting many regions.
Forecasts show partly to heavily cloudy skies, with local thunderstorms and showers in the Inner Aegean, eastern Black Sea inland areas, and the northeast of Eastern Anatolia.
Provinces such as Balikesir, Bursa, Bilecik, Sakarya, Duzce, Adana, Rize and Bingol, along with coastal parts of Artvin and Hatay, are also included in the warning.
Authorities urged residents to prepare for sudden floods, waterlogging and transport disruptions.
The Turkish State Meteorological Service underlined the risk of dangerous downpours in some areas and advised people to avoid risky travel during peak rainfall hours.
The strongest showers are forecast for the northeastern provinces of Kars and Ardahan.
Meteorologists expect intense rainfall on Friday and Saturday, which could trigger flash floods and cause damage to local infrastructure. Officials have already placed emergency services on alert for possible incidents.
Forecast specialist Fevzi Burak Tekin explained: “Saturday will bring showers across Marmara’s south and east, the Inner Aegean, western Mediterranean inland areas, central and eastern Anatolia, and the Black Sea.”
He added that rainfall would continue intermittently through the weekend.
Strong winds, rain forecast for Marmara region, Istanbul
The Marmara region will be affected by strong winds blowing from the north and northeast at 25 to 37 miles per hour.
These gusts could cause falling trees, roof damage and travel problems. Rainfall in Bursa, Bilecik, Balikesir and Sakarya is expected to make conditions more difficult for residents and commuters.
Istanbul will see mostly cloudy skies with short showers, mainly on the Asian side. Meteorologists warned that the combination of strong winds and rain may affect ferry connections and road traffic across the city, urging caution in open and coastal areas.
Dust transport is forecast for southeastern Türkiye and the southern parts of eastern Anatolia.
This could reduce air quality, limit visibility and create health risks for people with respiratory conditions. Authorities recommended limiting outdoor activity during peak dust hours and using protective masks when necessary.
The warnings cover cities such as Diyarbakir, Mardin and Siirt, where high temperatures will continue despite the dust. Residents in Gaziantep and other nearby areas may also face reduced visibility, particularly in rural zones.
