7 police officers wounded in clashes during Daesh operation in Türkiye's Yalova

Seven police officers were wounded in clashes during an operation against the Daesh terrorist organization in Yalova province, with the operation continuing with special operations support from Bursa.

According to the reports, Provincial Security Directorate teams launched an operation targeting Daesh at a house on the Elmalik village road in the central district.

Clashes broke out during the operation, resulting in seven police officers being wounded.

The Yalova Governorship issued the following statement: "During a planned operation conducted by our Yalova Police Department in its area of responsibility against the Daesh terrorist organization, an incident occurred in which 7 police officers were injured."

"In response to the incident, Special Operations support teams from the Bursa province were dispatched to the area to provide operational support."

"The seven injured police officers were immediately transferred to the hospital, and according to the initial medical assessments, the injured personnel are not in life-threatening condition. Security measures and intervention efforts at the scene are continuing in a controlled manner with the participation of the reinforcement forces," the statement added.

The wounded officers were taken by ambulance to Yalova Training and Research Hospital. Their health conditions are reported to be good with no life-threatening injuries.

Special operations police from Bursa are providing support for the ongoing operation. Security measures have been implemented in the surrounding area as the operation continues.

The Yalova operation comes amid a series of counter-terrorism operations targeting Daesh across Türkiye ahead of New Year celebrations.
