The Kemankes 1 artificial intelligence-based mini cruise missile successfully struck airborne targets with pinpoint accuracy during its first test firing from a Bayraktar Akinci unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV).

Baykar continues to successfully complete critical tests of high-technology artificial intelligence-based unmanned systems.

The Kemankes 1 missile, fired for the first time from a Bayraktar Akinci UCAV, successfully completed an airborne target destruction mission in a challenging scenario.

AI-guided precision strike against airborne targets

The Bayraktar Akinci UCAV took off carrying two Kemankes 1 missiles under its wings for testing conducted in coordination with flight training and test centers in Corlu and Kesan.

The test activities examined Kemankes 1's system identification, cruise, firing, and visual dive capabilities for airborne target destruction.

According to the scenario, two Kemankes 1 missiles were fired at moving airborne targets carried by another drone. The AI-assisted targeting system developed by Baykar enabled the Kemankes 1 missiles to autonomously destroy designated targets with high precision and complete accuracy.

The test successfully validated Kemankes 1's capability to effectively eliminate even the smallest airborne targets, completing all assigned missions successfully.

Kemankes 1 to enhance combat capabilities of Turkish UCAVs

Kemankes 1 will be integrated with Baykar's nationally developed Bayraktar Akinci UCAV, Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and Bayraktar TB3 UAV.

The mini intelligent cruise missile can remain airborne for approximately one hour and uses its jet engine to rapidly reach high-risk targets 'behind enemy lines'.

With an operational range exceeding 200 kilometers, Kemankes 1 features an AI-assisted optical guidance system that can reportedly identify targets and achieve pinpoint accuracy even in challenging weather conditions.

The missile performs autonomous flight through its AI-assisted autopilot system, neutralizing strategic targets with high precision to change battlefield dynamics.

Kemankes 1 operates during both day and night conditions and can perform missions without being affected by electronic interference due to its anti-jamming technology.

The missile conducts all line-of-sight communications with its attached platform, transmitting all data and imagery to the ground control station through the platform to support user data tracking.

The system features a 2-axis stabilized camera system with up to a 2.8-kilometer (1.78 miles) laser range finder, 36x optical zoom capabilities, and AI-assisted electro-optical guidance.

Technical specifications include a maximum takeoff weight of 40 kilograms, a 5-kilogram payload capacity, a service ceiling of 15,000 feet, and a maximum dive speed of 400 knots indicated airspeed.

Baykar's export success and global reach

Baykar has financed all projects with its own resources since beginning its UAV research and development process in 2003, earning 83% of all revenues from exports.

The company achieved $1.8 billion in exports in 2023, ranking among the top 10 firms with the highest exports across all sectors in the country.

As the world's largest unmanned aerial vehicle export company, Baykar maintained its global success in 2024, achieving $1.8 billion in exports while earning 90% of its revenues from international sales.

Baykar has signed export agreements with 36 countries in total—35 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV and 15 countries for the Bayraktar Akinci UCAV.
