Türkiye's Competition Board has launched an investigation into Dassault Systemes, the provider of widely used engineering and design software, including SolidWorks and CATIA, over allegations of anti-competitive practices in its dealership system.
According to a statement on the Competition Authority's website, the board found the findings of the preliminary investigation serious and sufficient, and has placed the company's practices regarding its dealership system under scrutiny.
The investigation targets the economic entity consisting of Dassault Systemes SE, Dassault Systemes International SAS, Dassault Systemes SolidWorks Corporation, and Dassault Systemes İstanbul İnovasyon Teknoloji Ltd. Sti.
The statement noted that the investigation will examine whether the company violated the Law on the Protection of Competition based on two main suspicions.
The first allegation concerns price-fixing, with claims that the company interfered with the prices of products sold by dealers, thereby preventing free price formation.
The second allegation concerns customer restrictions, with suspicions that restrictions were imposed on the customers or regions to which dealers could sell.
"Having discussed the information and documents acquired and observations made in the preliminary inquiry in its meeting on 04.12.2025, the Competition Board considered that the findings were significant and sufficient and took the decision numbered 25-45/1110-M that an investigation shall be opened about Dassault," the statement noted.
The Competition Authority emphasized that investigation decisions taken by the Board do not mean that the enterprises under investigation have violated the relevant law or are facing or will face sanctions.
The outcome of the investigation will clarify whether the practices in question violate competition laws.
