A recent survey commissioned by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) examined public preferences on Türkiye’s foreign policy orientation. Results reveal significant differences across party lines.
Among AK Party voters: 34.6% support forming alliances with the Islamic world, 28.1% favor Türkiye acting as an independent central power in its region, and 23.7% endorse alliances with the Turkish world.
Among Republican People’s Party (CHP) supporters: 47% prioritize regional independence, 16.7% back alliances with the Turkish world, 6.1% support alliances with the Islamic world, 17% prefer alignment with the European Union, and 4.6% favor cooperation with the United States.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) supporters show a strong preference for cooperation with the Turkish world (42.5%), followed by alliances with the Islamic world (24%) and regional independence (19.2%).

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) voters favor regional independence (36.7%) and European Union alignment (26.9%), with 9.4% supporting cooperation with the United States and 11.9% backing alliances with the Islamic world.
The least favored options across parties were alliances with African nations, the United States, and emerging Asian countries. Among undecided voters, 45.5% favor Türkiye as an independent central power, 19.9% support alliances with the Islamic world, and 19.5% back alliances with the Turkish world.
