Türkiye’s telecommunications regulator has raised the maximum fees mobile operators can charge, increasing costs for calls, text messages, and several technical services.
The new pricing framework was introduced by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), which sets upper limits on telecom charges rather than fixed consumer prices.
Under the updated limits, domestic call charges rose from ₺4.11 ($0,09) to ₺4.75 per minute, while international call rates increased from ₺48.68 ($1,10) to ₺56.37 per minute.
Text message pricing was also adjusted, with domestic SMS capped at ₺3.39 and international messages set at ₺9.88.
These figures represent the maximum rates operators can apply, meaning actual tariffs may vary depending on individual plans.
The regulation also updates charges for a range of administrative and technical services offered by mobile operators.
The revised fees include:
According to the new regulation, mobile communication price caps have increased by a total of 30.5 percent over the past year.
The updated limits are being implemented alongside Türkiye’s ongoing transition toward 5G infrastructure.
Authorities note that the changes do not affect users currently on fixed-term contracts, whose existing tariffs remain unchanged until their agreements expire.
