Teknofest Blue Homeland, held in Kocaeli's Golcuk district, has drawn visitors of all ages over the weekend, showcasing Türkiye's domestic and national defense technologies.
Visitors filling the grounds are examining the aircraft and naval vessels on display up close while following the demonstrations staged at the venue.
As part of the festival, Seahawk and Super Cobra helicopters belonging to the Naval Air Command, CASA CN-235 maritime patrol aircraft, along with Bayraktar TB2, TB3 and AKINCI drones, carried out demonstration flights over Golcuk.
The displays by naval aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) provided some of the event's most colourful moments.
Students from the National Defence University’s (MSU) Naval Academy took part in the Unmanned Surface Vessel (IDA) Competition at the festival with software they developed themselves.
The frigate TCG Yavuz, given “museum ship” status by the Naval Forces Command after its retirement, has also taken its place at the event.
The vessel includes crew living quarters, a galley, barber shop, dormitory, canteen, machine workshop and infirmary, as well as areas such as the combat operations centre.
As part of the festival’s cultural program, singer Sefo performed a concert on Saturday. The show ended with the artist stepping down among the audience to take photographs with them.
Dragon boat races were also held on Sunday. Ten teams of 10 rowers each competed over a 200-meter course, with the Naval Petty Officer Vocational School Command taking first place.
Visitors watch from beside Turkish naval vessels as Seahawk helicopters of the Turkish Naval Air Command carry out a demonstration flight on the festival's final day.
