United States Consul General to Istanbul Julie Eadeh has concluded her service in Istanbul with an emotional farewell message, marking the end of her tenure that began in November 2022.
"No goodbye—just see you later," Eadeh stated in her departure message, as she wrapped up her diplomatic mission in Türkiye's largest city.
The U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul praised her contributions in a statement posted on social media platform X.
"Consul General Julie Eadeh helped deepen U.S.-Türkiye ties in so many ways, including supporting Americans in crisis, advancing cultural exchange, and boosting trade and innovation between the United States and Türkiye," the consulate stated..
The statement added: "As she wraps up her time as Consul General in Istanbul, we're grateful for her leadership, warmth, and dedication to building bridges."
Eadeh underwent a risky medical operation in 2025, and she shared the details in a personal message thanking Turkish doctors.
She underwent a 15-hour medical operation involving the placement of 32 screws, 4 rods, and over 100 staples. In a personal message, she thanked Turkish doctors and nurses for their exceptional care, saying, “It was a grueling procedure, but I emerged stronger than ever.”
Julie A. Eadeh, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, brought two decades of diplomatic experience to her Istanbul posting. Prior to assuming the consul general position in November 2022, she served as Mission Türkiye Spokesperson in Ankara from August 2021 to October 2022.
Her extensive career includes postings as Political Chief at the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong, Public Affairs Officer and Acting Deputy Chief of Mission in Doha, Qatar, and Deputy Spokesperson at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
Eadeh has also played key roles in crisis management, notably overseeing the evacuation of American citizens during the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war in Beirut.
