Roketsan General Manager Murat Ikinci said the company is accelerating both mass production and advanced R&D efforts across its missile systems, noting that “existing products are being produced and delivered rapidly, while research and development continues to create more effective and higher-performance systems.”
Speaking after the campus event at Ankara University Teknokent, Ikinci highlighted the defense sector’s strong upward momentum.
Citing rising exports and new contracts, he said Roketsan is set to maintain fast growth, adding that SIPRI reports list the company as Türkiye’s second fastest-growing defense firm and the world’s 11th.
He emphasized Roketsan’s focus on “cost-effective, accessible and effective systems,” noting that production and delivery of current systems are ongoing while R&D efforts aim to improve performance and reduce costs through advanced manufacturing technologies.
Ikinci said Roketsan is progressing on projects under its agreement with the Presidency of Defence Industries, covering Steel Dome elements as well as ballistic and strategic systems.
Work continues on the SIPER, HISAR and SUNGUR systems, along with the ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System.
“We are working on technologies that will elevate ALKA’s power requirements significantly,” he noted.
Regarding the TAYFUN missile, Ikinci said multiple blocks are either in testing or delivery.
“We aim to complete work on these blocks quickly and deliver them to the Armed Forces in serial production. The TAYFUN family will continue expanding in range, warhead capability and accuracy.”
Providing an update on the GOKBORA beyond-visual-range missile, Ikinci said engine development has been completed and integration efforts are ongoing.
The missile is planned for deployment on various platforms, including Kizilelma, F-16s and other aircraft.
“GOKBORA is one of the fastest-developed missiles. We will bring it into the inventory as soon as possible,” he said.
