Turkish social media personality Taylan Ozguc Danyildiz, widely known by his online alias "Testo Taylan," has been released from custody after spending approximately 60 days in pretrial detention, according to local reports.
Danyildiz appeared before a judge for the first time since his arrest, and the court ruled in his favor and ordered his release.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into a YouTube video published on Danyildiz's social media accounts. Prosecutors alleged that the content, framed as a "social experiment," included degrading and obscene behavior directed at women.
Authorities further stated that the material had the potential to normalize harassment of women and make such behavior appear socially acceptable.
Additional posts were said to contain obscene imagery that could damage public morality, with the content reaching wide audiences through social media platforms.
Danyildiz was detained in Kocaeli on March 18 and subsequently remanded in custody by a duty judge on charges of "openly inciting the public to hatred and enmity." The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Press Crimes Investigation Bureau oversaw the case.
Testo Taylan is a YouTuber, social media influencer and powerlifting athlete born on October 30, 1997, in Izmir. He is known for comedic and entertainment content, particularly street interviews and home-visit videos. He is also a student of computer engineering at Middle East Technical University.
Before his arrest, Testo Taylan had drawn public criticism over a separate video featuring a disabled individual referred to online as "Kadikoy Bull" (Kadikoy Bogası).
During a boat trip, footage of the individual experiencing an involuntary bodily incident was broadcast without censorship, sparking widespread debate over privacy and the ethics of content creation involving vulnerable individuals.
