The Turkish Ministry of National Defense stated Friday that alarm sirens activated at Incirlik Air Base near Adana were a false alarm, with no attack or security threat detected at the 10th Main Jet Base Command facility.
"Social media posts are being circulated claiming that sirens sounded at Incirlik," ministry sources said.
"There is no attack or negative situation. It is assessed as a false alarm," the sources added.
The statement directly addressed social media reports that claimed sirens had activated at the base, which hosts NATO operations and is one of Türkiye's critical military installations.
Incirlik Air Base, located in Adana province in southern Türkiye, serves as a key operational hub for NATO forces in the Eastern Mediterranean and hosts the 10th Main Jet Base Command.
The base has been central to NATO's military operations, particularly during periods of regional instability.
No further details were provided by the Defense Ministry regarding the cause of the alarm activation.
