Turkish metal forming specialist Repkon has signed a contract to contribute to the production of Brazil-based SIATT's long-range anti-ship missile system, expanding Türkiye's defense industry reach into South American markets.
The agreement, signed in Sao Paulo, will see Repkon apply its flowforming technology to the MANSUP-ER program, a surface-to-surface missile system with a 200-kilometer range.
SIATT, which specializes in smart munitions design and production, recently secured a contract with the Brazilian Navy to supply MANSUP missiles for Tamandare-class frigates.
The MANSUP-ER long-range national surface anti-ship missile was developed through collaboration between SIATT, the UAE's EDGE Group and the Brazilian Navy.
The enhanced missile system serves both the Brazilian Navy and United Arab Emirates Navy requirements, representing an upgraded version of the original MANSUP missile.
Repkon brings specialized metal forming capabilities to the project, including flowforming technology, shearforming processes and hot spinning techniques.
The company manufactures high-precision parts for defense, aerospace and space industries, utilizing critical flowforming technology that few countries possess. This technology enables the production of rotationally symmetric parts with improved tolerances and material strength values.
"Flowforming allows the shaping of specialized products with improved structural integrity and minimal material waste," Repkon noted in past industry documentation.
Repkon has recently signed multiple international contracts for ammunition production facilities, with projects underway in the United States, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Ukraine, Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The company recently acquired Bowas, becoming one of the few firms worldwide capable of establishing facilities that produce metal components, filling systems and energetic materials for ammunition.
Both Repkon and SIATT anticipate their long-term collaboration will enable broader market penetration and stronger regional influence in the defense sector.
