Türkiye’s intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin traveled to Qatar on Tuesday for talks on United States President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, Turkish security sources said.
Kalin is expected to meet with parties involved in the ongoing negotiations between Hamas and Israel, mediated by Qatar, the United States and Egypt, the sources said.
Discussions will focus on Trump’s proposed plan to end the war in Gaza.
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari told a press conference in Doha that Türkiye will participate in the talks on the comprehensive plan.
He said the efforts of Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye would be “coordinated collectively” to bring the conflict to an end.
On Monday, Trump presented the framework at a joint press conference in Washington with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The 20-point plan calls for the release of all Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, the disarmament of Hamas, and the formation of a temporary Palestinian committee to govern Gaza, along with other measures.
