Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will participate in Tuesday's online Volunteers Coalition Leaders Meeting, representing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as international efforts continue to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine.
The meeting follows Monday's Ukraine-focused discussions at the White House between U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and European leaders.
Tuesday's online session will evaluate the latest developments in Russia-Ukraine peace negotiations, with participants expected to discuss pathways to both a ceasefire and a comprehensive, lasting peace in Ukraine.
The Volunteers Coalition brings together leading European countries, EU and NATO representatives, as well as non-European nations including Japan, Australia and Canada, working toward achieving a ceasefire and comprehensive peace in Ukraine.
"Türkiye, with its principled approach that prioritizes diplomacy over conflict, is ready to provide all kinds of contributions for the establishment of peace," Yilmaz stated on his Next Social account following his participation in the coalition's Aug. 17 meeting.
During the coalition's Aug. 13 Leaders Summit, held online ahead of the Aug. 15 Alaska meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Yilmaz emphasized Türkiye's support for diplomatic efforts to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.
In his remarks at that summit, Yilmaz reminded participants of concrete progress achieved during the Istanbul negotiations, including prisoner exchanges and the opening of a direct channel for establishing a framework toward a ceasefire and peace on humanitarian issues.
"Türkiye will continue its active diplomatic efforts until a just and lasting peace is achieved," Yilmaz stated at the Aug. 13 meeting.
The coalition meetings have been designed to facilitate the exchange of views on ways to achieve a just and lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine, with Türkiye consistently advocating for diplomatic solutions over military confrontation.
