Türkiye has officially reversed an additional increase in residence permit fees that was scheduled to take effect after May 1.
Following a comprehensive review conducted by the Ministry of Interior, the previously announced higher tariff was withdrawn.
Accordingly, the fee schedule published in the Official Gazette on Dec. 31, 2025 (Issue No. 33124), which went into effect on Jan. 1, 2026, remains fully in force.
The residence permit fee structure continues to rely heavily on the principle of reciprocity. While some nations are charged in Turkish Lira, others face U.S. dollar-denominated fees, and several are entirely exempt.
Citizens of Czechia, Denmark, Ireland, Kosovo, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Syria, Turkmenistan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), and Palestine remain completely exempt from residence permit fees.
For nationals of Serbia, Fiji, Norway, and the Northern Mariana Islands, the fees remain calculated in Turkish lira: ₺348.1 per day for up to one month (with the first month costing a minimum of ₺653.7 and a maximum of ₺3,359.9). Each additional month costs ₺2,232.3.
For a specific list of countries, reciprocal tariffs are denominated in U.S. dollars and divided into four main groups:
Group A—$9 first month, $2.50 thereafter: Belgium, Belarus, Algeria, Spain, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Malta, Singapore, Taiwan, and Jordan.
Group B—$14 first month, $3.5 therafter: Albania, Philippines, Israel, Japan, Cambodia, North Macedonia, Mali, Tajikistan and Oman.
Group C—$7 first month, $1.5 thereafter: Ethiopia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Micronesia and Russia.
Group D—$5 first month, $0.5 thereafter: Morocco, Cote d’Ivoire, Iraq, Montenegro, Egypt, and Tunisia.
For all other 158 countries worldwide not explicitly listed in these groups, the standard reciprocal residence permit tariff remains set at $25 for the first month and $5 for each subsequent month.
The Ministry also confirmed that the fees for single-entry visas and work permits remain unchanged under the January 2026 revision.
Currently, the single-entry visa fee stands at ₺9,376.4. Standard work permit fees are set at 12,574.90 TL, while the cost for an unlimited work permit is ₺125,802.2.
