Türkiye has brought back 40 fugitives who were wanted under Interpol Red Notices and at the national level following coordinated operations carried out in Georgia, Germany, Bulgaria, the United States, Croatia, Switzerland, Montenegro, Russia and Greece.

Authorities said the extraditions were carried out through the coordination of the EGM Interpol-Europol Department, the Justice Ministry and multiple law enforcement units.

Red Notice suspects captured abroad

Officials said suspects wanted under Interpol Red Notices were apprehended for a wide range of crimes, including murder, attempted murder, organized crime, drug trafficking, robbery, fraud, forgery, sexual abuse of a child and prostitution-related offenses.

Among those detained in Georgia were multiple suspects wanted for murder, organized crime, robbery, drug trafficking, forgery and sexual abuse of a child.

A suspect wanted for cyber fraud was captured in the United States.

Authorities said suspects wanted for drug trafficking, murder and other violent crimes were detained in Germany, while others wanted for attempted murder and causing death by injury were captured in Croatia and Montenegro.

Additional suspects wanted for murder were detained in Russia and Greece.

National-level fugitives returned to Türkiye

Authorities said suspects wanted at the national level were also returned to Türkiye for crimes including terrorist propaganda, fraud, theft, bribery, violation of privacy, illegal access to personal data, illegal weapons possession, torture, embezzlement and aiding prisoner escapes.

Most of the nationally wanted suspects were apprehended in Georgia. Others were detained in Bulgaria and Switzerland before being extradited.

Authorities said all suspects were returned to Türkiye following the completion of judicial and extradition procedures in the countries where they were captured.

Multiple agencies involved in operations

The extraditions were carried out with the participation of intelligence units, organized crime departments, narcotics units, public order teams, cybercrime units and counterterrorism departments.

Officials also acknowledged the role of judicial authorities and international cooperation mechanisms in securing the extraditions.

Authorities congratulated all agencies involved for their coordinated efforts in returning the fugitives to Türkiye.
