Türkiye welcomes Iran ceasefire, calls on all sides to implement deal on ground

Turkish Foreign Ministry welcomed the temporary ceasefire declared in the war in the region on Wednesday.

The ministry called for its full implementation on the ground and urged all parties to adhere to the agreement, while congratulating Pakistan for its role in the process.

Ceasefire must be 'fully implemented on the ground'

The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement welcoming the truce and setting out Ankara's expectations.

"We welcome the temporary ceasefire declared in the war in the region. We emphasize that the temporary ceasefire must be fully implemented on the ground and hope that all parties adhere to the agreement reached," the ministry said.

Road to lasting peace only possible through dialogue, diplomacy'

The ministry outlined Türkiye's vision for what must follow the ceasefire.

"The road to lasting peace will only be possible through dialogue, diplomacy, and mutual trust. We will continue to provide every kind of support for the negotiations in Islamabad to conclude successfully," the ministry said.

The ministry also congratulated Pakistan for its role in the process. "We congratulate fraternal Pakistan for the role it has undertaken in this process, and wish for the continuation of all initiatives contributing to peace," it said.
