Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian began meetings in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The talks are part of the ongoing peace process between the two South Caucasus nations.
According to a statement from the Azerbaijan Presidency, the leaders met within the framework of continuing peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The meeting represents the latest diplomatic effort to finalize a comprehensive peace agreement.
Peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia began following the Second Karabakh War at Baku's proposal. In March 2025, both countries reached consensus on the text of a peace agreement.
The Azerbaijan administration has set specific conditions for signing the agreement. These include amending Armenia's constitution to remove claims regarding Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and dissolving the currently outdated and non-functional OSCE Minsk Group.
Aliyev and Pashinian last met in May during the sixth Summit of the European Political Community in Tirana, Albania's capital.
The Abu Dhabi meeting continues the series of high-level diplomatic engagements between the two leaders. The peace process has gained momentum since the conclusion of the Second Karabakh War. Both sides have expressed commitment to reaching a final settlement through diplomatic channels.
