Iraq to announce end of coalition forces mission
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein is scheduled to visit Washington in September, where according to the Tasnim News, he will make a significant announcement regarding the end of the international coalition forces’ mission in Iraq.
Official statement to be issued in Washington
According to sources, during this visit, the Iraqi and U.S. foreign ministers will hold a joint press conference to officially declare the conclusion of the coalition forces’ mission in Iraq. This marks a pivotal moment in Iraq’s ongoing efforts to regain full control over its national security.
The withdrawal of coalition forces from Iraq, excluding the Kurdistan Region, is set to begin in September 2025. The remaining forces in the Kurdistan Region are expected to withdraw by September 2026.
