The Egyptian Committee for the Relief of Gaza began three days ago searching for one of the Israeli bodies, accompanied by heavy machinery, the Red Cross, and technical teams, according to an Al-Arabia report.
According to Palestinian sources, the body currently being searched for in central Gaza, specifically west of the Nuseirat camp, belongs to an Israeli woman.
However, despite three days of continuous searching, the targeted body has not yet been found.
The sources added that the search operations for the bodies take place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as the Israeli military prohibits continuing the search at night.
The cease-fire agreement reached in October stipulated that Hamas would hand over the remains of 28 detainees who were killed to Israel.
In return, Israel would transfer the remains of 15 deceased Gaza residents to local authorities for each body returned by Hamas.
So far, Hamas has turned over 25 of the 28 bodies, while the search continues for the remaining three.
The issue has raised international concerns that it could hinder the transition to the second phase of the Gaza truce plan and delay the reconstruction of the devastated enclave after two years of deadly Israeli warfare.
