U.S. is grappling with the rapid pace of Syrian opposition advances, which have raised concerns that Assad's regime could collapse in a matter of days, according to five U.S. officials speaking to CNN.

Officials reportedly noted that the speed of the Syrian opposition push, launched last week, has caught the U.S. off guard, as U.S. officials believe that Türkiye may have effectively given the opposition group the go-ahead to carry out its offensive.

Despite these developments, U.S. officials caution that a definitive conclusion on Assad’s future has not been reached, with varying opinions on the situation, reported CNN.

“It's becoming increasingly likely that the Assad regime will lose its grip on power soon,” the official stated. Meanwhil, another official predicted, "By next weekend, the regime may no longer have any semblance of control."
