Ferhat Abdi Sahin, one of the ringleaders of the YPG/PKK terrorist group and the so-called commander of the SDF, the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist organization, has warned that the ceasefire in northeastern Syria may not continue as integration talks with Damascus face difficulties.

Mazloum Abdi, the ringleader of the SDF, issued the warning in a video message sent to an event held in Germany, amid reports that negotiations on integration between the SDF and Damascus have stalled.

In his message, Abdi stated both that they do not want conflicts to resume and that they are "always ready," saying: "There has been a ceasefire and stability in northeastern Syria for several months, but since final agreements have not yet been reached, the possibility of conflicts resuming continues. We hope that conflict will not resume, but we are always ready to protect our institutions and our people."

Abdi, code-named Mazlum Kobani, also known as Mazloum Abdi, is a wanted terrorist group figure by Türkiye.

SDF's calls for decentralized system in Syria

In the video message, Abdi noted that 14 years of war was "enough" and argued that "the only way forward is a decentralized system."

Claiming that no solution other than decentralization is possible for Syria, Abdi stated, "A new Syria must be built where every person will find their place. Syria will no longer be the Syria of before 2011."

Abdi noted that the March 10 Agreement signed with Damascus provides important groundwork for this new framework and argued that progress must be made step by step for a political solution.

Syrian army repels PKK/YPG infiltration attempt

In a separate incident, the Syrian army reportedly repelled PKK/YPG terrorists who attempted to infiltrate army positions in the village of Tel Maez, east of Aleppo.

According to Syria's official news agency SANA, citing military sources, PKK/YPG terrorists attempted to infiltrate to rescue their groups that had been ambushed in the Tel Maez village in the Aleppo countryside.

The report stated that terrorists targeted army positions, noting, "Clashes began with light weapons. The PKK/YPG conducted artillery strikes. The army responded with heavy weapons and sent reinforcements to the area."

The Syrian presidency announced on March 10 that an agreement was signed for SDF integration into state institutions, reaffirming the country's territorial unity and rejecting division attempts.

The PKK, designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union, announced its dissolution in May during a congress.

This move followed a February call by the group's imprisoned ringleader, Abdullah Ocalan, to end decades of attacks.

The SDF is dominated by the YPG, identified as the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist organization.
