A Turkish Football Federation (TFF) representative, speaking to Turkish sports news outlet Fanatik, has rejected reports suggesting Vincenzo Montella, the current head coach of Türkiye’s national football team, is a strong candidate for the AS Roma managerial position.

Ceyhun Kazanci, TFF Board Member in charge of National Teams, responded to the speculation, stating, “There is no such thing.”

Meanwhile, he earlier emphasized that Montella, who has been in charge of Türkiye since September 2023, has a contract running through to the 2026 World Cup.

‘He is very happy here’

“He is very happy here and 100 percent concentrated,” Kazanci added. “There is nothing more natural than successful coaches being associated with big clubs. He will be with us at least until the end of the 2026 World Cup.”

Italian media had previously reported that Roma, struggling with inconsistent performances in Serie A, were considering Montella as a potential replacement for their current coach.

Since taking over Türkiye, Montella has led the team to nine wins, three draws, and five defeats. He also has a history with Roma, starting as the youth team coach from 2009 to 2011 before a brief spell with the senior squad in 2011.
