Earlier, rumors surfaced about Mourinho being linked to the Brazil national team. Now, a fresh report from the U.K. media has suggested that the Rangers, the Scottish football giant, is also interested in the Portuguese coach.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, new investors preparing to take over Rangers are planning high-profile moves. Mourinho and former Rangers star Steven Gerrard are reportedly among the targets.
Rangers are currently 15 points behind their rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, causing significant disappointment. Due to poor form, the club parted ways with manager Philippe Clement. In the interim, Rangers appointed former player Barry Ferguson as the manager until the end of the season.
Rangers' captain, James Tavernier, has expressed his desire for Ferguson to stay on beyond this season, but this does not seem likely.
The report further revealed that Mourinho is open to joining Rangers, but only if the club promises to make new signings to strengthen the squad.
