Turkish weightlifter Kaan Kahriman secured the gold medal in the men’s 67-kilogram category at the European Weightlifting Championship

Kaan Kahriman, the Turkish weightlifter, emerged triumphant on Thursday at the European Weightlifting Championships held in Bulgaria. Displaying remarkable prowess in the men’s 67-kilogram category, Kahriman clinched the gold medal with a flawless lift of 142 kilograms in the snatch discipline.

The young athlete also impressed in the clean and jerk, securing a third-place finish with a lift of 168 kilograms. His 310 kilograms earned him a silver medal in the overall standings, making him the European runner-up. 

Another Turkish representative, Ferdi Hardal, claimed a silver medal in the clean and jerk, 169 kilograms, and a bronze medal in the snatch, 135 kilograms, contributing to Türkiye’s total haul of 14 medals in the competition.

The European Weightlifting Championships provided a platform for Turkish weightlifters to showcase their prowess, with Kahriman’s gold medal and overall silver medal being notable achievements. 

As Türkiye continues to make its mark on the international weightlifting scene, the performances of athletes like Kahriman and Hardal serve as beacons of inspiration for the future of Turkish weightlifting.
