Authorities in Bitlis have apprehended a suspected member of the terrorist group Daesh who was reportedly preparing for an attack.

The operation, conducted on Nov. 15, was coordinated by the Bitlis Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and carried out by the Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism units of the Provincial Police Department.
The Bitlis Provincial Police, acting on intelligence to thwart potential activities of Daesh, detained the suspect during an operation aimed at preventing planned attacks.
No additional details about the suspect or the planned attack have been disclosed.
Following interrogation at the Provincial Police Department, the suspect was referred to the judicial authorities. After a hearing, the court formally detained the individual.
