Türkiye rescues refugees abandoned by Greece in Aegean Sea
Turkish Coast Guard saved the irregular migrants after they were abandoned in the sea by the Greek Coast Guard in two life rafts in the Kusadasi Kadinlar Denizi area, northeast of Samos Island.
The irregular migrants were saved during the reconnaissance and surveillance activities conducted by the UAV of the Turkish Naval Forces Command on Aug. 9, 2024.
Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense shared the images of the rescued irregular migrants on its official X account.
Greece often leaves irregular migrants to die in the sea by leaving them in life rafts.
In response, Turkish security forces continue to save the lives of irregular migrants.
