Türkiye suspends education in 21 cities, provinces due to adverse weather
Due to heavy snowfall across Türkiye, education has been suspended in 21 cities and several districts on Monday.
Local governorates and district offices announced the closures, citing safety concerns caused by the adverse weather conditions.
The affected areas include the cities of Nigde, Nevsehir, Ordu, Yozgat, Gumushane, Bayburt, Bolu, Tokat, Erzincan, Kirsehir, Sivas, Kahramanmaras, Malatya, Giresun, Aksaray, Cankiri, Sinop, Duzce, Tunceli, Karaman and Kastamonu. Apart from the cities, many district announced the suspension of education for one day.
Here is the list of districts below:
- Tufanbeyli and Pozanti in Adana
- Asarcik, Havza, Ladik, and Vezirkipru in Samsun
- Akyazi in Sakarya
- Eflani in Karabuk
- Ikizdere in Rize
- Karakocan in Elazig
- Adakli, Kigi, Yayladere and Yedisu in Bingol
Authorities urged residents to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during the adverse weather.
