Unemployment in the Eurozone rose to 6.5% in June, up from 6.4% in May, according to Eurostat. The number of unemployed individuals increased by 41,000 from the previous month, bringing the total to 11.12 million people in the single currency zone.
Across the broader European Union, which includes member countries not using the euro, the unemployment rate remained steady at 6% in June. This stability was marked by an increase of 52,000 in the number of jobless individuals, reaching 13.26 million.
Youth unemployment figures showed a decrease, with 2.83 million young people (under 25) jobless across the E.U., including 2.27 million in the Eurozone. The youth unemployment rate dropped to 14.1% in the Eurozone and 14.4% across the E.U.
