Man passes away after falling from a hot-air balloon in Australia
A man tragically died after falling from a hot-air balloon on Monday while it was flying over suburban Melbourne, the second-largest city in Australia
The hot-air balloon departed from the northern outskirts of Melbourne early in the morning and had been airborne for approximately 30 minutes when the man plummeted from the basket.
His lifeless body was discovered in a residential area that Victoria state police cordoned off to traffic. The balloon touched down safely many miles away from the location where the man’s body was found.
Authorities stated that they would compile a report for the coroner, emphasizing that the incident was not considered suspicious.
They are currently interviewing the balloon’s pilot, other passengers, and individuals who witnessed the event.
Both the National Commercial Hot-Air Ballooning Industry and the Australian Ballooning Federation extended their sympathies to the man’s loved ones.
In their official statement, they mentioned: “Hot-air balloon baskets are meticulously crafted with safety as the top priority, aimed at preventing passengers from accidentally falling out or exiting unintentionally.”
“The passengers and pilot are understandably deeply affected by this unfortunate event, and the operator is arranging psychological assistance and counseling for all those impacted.”
