Senegal Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko will make an official visit to Türkiye from Aug. 6 to 11 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish Presidency's Communications Director announced on Wednesday.
Burhanettin Duran confirmed the visit through his social media account, stating that Sonko will conduct the official visit in response to Erdogan's invitation during the specified dates.
The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and explore steps to deepen cooperation at the strategic partnership level.
Duran stated that meetings scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 7, will address Turkish-Senegalese bilateral relations in all dimensions.
During the talks, officials will evaluate steps to be taken toward deepening cooperation at the strategic partnership level between the two nations.
The discussions will also include exchanges of views on regional and international issues, according to the communications director's announcement.
The visit is expected to result in the signing of various agreements that will strengthen the contractual basis of relations between Türkiye and Senegal.
Duran indicated that multiple agreements are envisioned to be signed during the visit, which will reinforce the formal foundation of bilateral ties.
The meetings between Erdogan and Sonko will comprehensively address bilateral relations between Türkiye and Senegal across all dimensions.
Officials will assess potential steps to deepen the strategic partnership-level cooperation that already exists between the two countries.
