U.S. President Donald Trump will convene with leaders from eight predominantly Muslim nations Tuesday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, the White House announced, as the Gaza conflict dominates discussions at the international forum.

The multilateral meeting will include the leaders of Türkiye, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said during a Monday briefing. While Leavitt did not outline a specific agenda, the gathering is expected to center on the ongoing situation in Gaza.

The meeting represents a significant diplomatic engagement for Trump, who has positioned himself as a key player in Middle Eastern affairs since returning to office. The participating countries include several that have been vocal about the Gaza crisis and have varying degrees of influence in regional peace efforts.

Trump to address global conflicts in UN speech

On Tuesday morning, Trump will deliver what the White House describes as a major speech emphasizing "the renewal of American strength around the world" and highlighting achievements from his first eight months back in office, including what Leavitt characterized as "ending seven global wars and conflicts."

The president's address will critique how "globalist institutions have significantly decayed the world order" while presenting his "straightforward and constructive vision for the world," according to the press secretary.

Trump's speech comes as the UN General Assembly convenes under the shadow of the Israel-Gaza war, which has drawn international attention and divided global opinion since it began.

Bilateral meetings planned with key leaders

Beyond the Muslim leaders' meeting, Trump has scheduled bilateral discussions with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the leaders of Ukraine, Argentina, and the European Union on Tuesday.

Trump is scheduled to depart Washington Monday evening for New York, accompanied by first lady Melania Trump, ahead of the 80th UN General Assembly session.

The diplomatic marathon will conclude with a reception for world leaders Tuesday night before Trump returns to Washington.

The meetings underscore Trump's approach to international diplomacy during his second term, as he seeks to position the United States as a central mediator in global conflicts while maintaining relationships across diverse geopolitical alignments.
