Türkiye is prepared to deploy military personnel to Ukraine as part of security guarantee arrangements and will assist with Black Sea demining operations, Ukraine's Ambassador to Türkiye Nariman Dzhelyalov announced during a television marathon appearance.

Dzhelyalov said he met with Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler on Tuesday for what he described as a productive discussion about Türkiye's potential military involvement.

"I just had a meeting yesterday with Türkiye's Defense Minister Yasar Guler, we had a very good conversation. Türkiye is ready to join Black Sea demining in the near future," Dzhelyal said, according to RBC-Ukraine.

Among 10 nations ready to deploy to Ukraine

The ambassador revealed that Türkiye is among 10 countries potentially prepared to send military forces to Ukraine within the framework of security guarantees.

"We welcome such steps from Türkiye," Dzhelyalov added.

Beyond maritime demining, Turkish officials are also considering proposals to participate in humanitarian civilian land demining operations, the ambassador noted.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently stated that Türkiye has expressed readiness to participate in Ukraine's security guarantees, taking responsibility for maritime security.

Romania may also become key to Ukraine's security guarantees in the Black Sea region, with the country ready to provide its military bases to NATO allies.

Continued peace process support

A Turkish Foreign Ministry source told Russian media outlet TASS on Monday that Ankara will continue supporting peace processes between Russia and Ukraine.

"We as Türkiye emphasize our readiness to provide comprehensive support to the peace process at every opportunity," the ministry source said, adding that this position "remains unchanged."

The statement came in response to questions about conflict resolution and possible new rounds of negotiations between the parties.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly stated his readiness to facilitate negotiations between delegations and organize meetings between leaders of the conflicting parties.
