Türkiye’s firefighting team departs Athens after successful mission
Türkiye’s firefighting team, sent to assist Greece in its battle against wildfires, has departed Athens.
The team, consisting of two amphibious “AT-802F” Fireboss planes and a “T-70” helicopter, had been deployed following Türkiye’s offer of assistance on August 11th, when a wildfire broke out near Varnava, close to the Greek capital, Athens, and spread to various regions in Attica.
Our team of 8 from the General Directorate of Forestry, including two planes and one helicopter, successfully completed their mission in Athens and has left Greece to return home and assist with the ongoing forest fires in Türkiye
