The United Kingdom announced that Israeli students will not be admitted to the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), one of the world’s leading military schools.
According to The Telegraph, the government stated that, for the first time since its founding in 1927, the RCDS will not accept Israeli participants.
The school traditionally aims to build a shared understanding among senior military personnel from around the world.
A UK Ministry of Defence official told the newspaper that British military institutions emphasize adherence to international humanitarian law.
The official added, “However, the Israeli government's decision to escalate its military operation in Gaza is wrong."
"The war should be ended immediately through a diplomatic process, beginning with a ceasefire, release of hostages, and allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza.”
Israeli Defence Ministry Director-General Amir Baram criticized the U.K. decision, calling the exclusion of Israeli students from his alma mater “a dishonorable disloyalty to an ally at war.”
Baram also argued that the move could undermine the U.K.’s own security interests.
Earlier, the U.K. had announced that the Israeli government delegation would not be invited to the International Defense and Security Equipment Exhibition (DSEI 2025) held in London from September 8-12, a major global defense industry event.
