All articles published by Türkiye Today are reported, written, and edited by staff journalists. Although AI tools may support the production process, they are not permitted to generate published content.

Türkiye Today’s journalists retain full accountability for the accuracy, sourcing, and quality of their published work, regardless of the tools employed. AI must not be the sole source for fact-checking. Every fact must be checked against a primary or otherwise reliable source.

AI may be used for the following tasks, provided that all outputs are subject to human review before publication:

Headline suggestions: AI may help draft headline options; however, editors are responsible for the final selection and editing.

Translation assistance: AI, in some cases, may be used to convert Turkish wire copy, statements, and source material into English. All translations are and must be closely reviewed against the original for accuracy and nuance before publication.

Research and document analysis: AI may assist in locating information within large documents, datasets, or archives. All information identified by AI must be independently verified prior to use.

Alt-text for images: Draft descriptions may be generated with AI assistance, but must not be displayed to readers until they have undergone human review.

AI-generated content should not be presumed accurate.

All facts, quotes, names, dates, and figures produced or suggested by AI tools require verification by journalists before publication, in accordance with standard sourcing protocols. AI is not considered a citable source.

Türkiye Today’s journalists are responsible for ensuring that stories are comprehensive and represent multiple perspectives. The use of AI assistance does not reduce this responsibility.

AI must not be used to manipulate photos or videos that represent real events, nor to generate images intended to depict real people, places, or situations as authentic. Any AI-generated image used for illustrative purposes must be clearly labeled for readers.

Editors are responsible for reviewing and approving all AI-assisted content before publication. Any uncertainty regarding the appropriateness of a specific AI use must be discussed with the editor before proceeding.
