During his official visit to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
As one of the world’s largest and most visually stunning places of worship, the mosque is not only a religious landmark but also a cultural beacon representing peace, tolerance, and the richness of Islamic architecture.
Constructed from 1996 to 2007 using materials and artisans from across the globe, the mosque features 82 domes, over 1,000 columns, and the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet.
Inside the main prayer hall, Trump observes the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet and the mosque’s grand chandelier, adorned with Swarovski crystals.
Walking past marble columns inlaid with mother of pearl, Trump is briefed on the mosque’s rich architectural influences, spanning Persian, Mughal, and Moorish styles.
Trump tours the iconic mosque, which stands as the largest in the country and accommodates over 40,000 worshippers.
