Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Ghareeb held talks in Bursa on Monday with provincial officials and business leaders to expand economic ties, culminating in the signing of a twinning agreement between the Bursa and Aleppo Chambers of Commerce to boost trade and joint investments.
The visit included an expanded meeting with Syrian businesspeople in Bursa, followed by a joint gathering of Turkish and Syrian entrepreneurs at the Bursa Chamber of Commerce.
The discussions reviewed available investment opportunities and examined the role of the “Aleppo Is for Everyone” campaign in supporting the business environment and productive projects.
The visit concluded with the signing of a twinning agreement between the Bursa and Aleppo Chambers of Commerce. The deal aims to enhance trade exchange, share industrial expertise, and encourage joint investments in the textile, food-processing, and construction materials sectors, supporting reconstruction efforts and the revitalization of Aleppo’s economy.
Recent months have seen a series of “twinning” agreements signed by local authorities in Syria with various cities and countries as part of ongoing efforts to enhance external cooperation and open new channels for cultural and economic exchange.
In early November, Syria and Italy signed a twinning agreement between the cities of Palmyra and Paestum, aimed at supporting joint projects in the fields of culture and tourism.
The agreement was concluded during an official visit by Tourism Minister Mazen al-Salhani and Culture Minister Mohammad Yassin Saleh to the Italian city.
