Antalya hotels see high occupancy rates through September
Hotel occupancy rates in Türkiye’s Antalya, Türkiye remain high through September, with levels comparable to the peak summer months of July and August, according to Hakan Saatcioglu, Chairman of the Professional Hotel Managers Association (POYD).
He noted that the tourism season now begins earlier and extends further into the year.
“The tourism season now starts on May 1 and continues until the last week of November. Tourists can swim until late November as the weather remains favorable,” Saatcioglu said in an interview.
“Summer is getting longer. The lowest occupancy rates occur in December, January and February, but we try to compensate for this with sports, health, and conference tourism,” Saatcioglu added.
Strong performance in tourism in September
Despite being midway through September, hotels in Antalya are experiencing occupancy rates of 90-95%, similar to those seen during the peak summer months. “According to the reservations, occupancy levels are expected to remain high in October as well,” Saatcioglu added.
He also emphasized the importance of early bookings, which offer significant advantages for both domestic and international travelers.
“Early reservations are increasing, with some regions seeing a rise of 70%, and in others, up to nearly 100%. Those who book early can save between 35% and 45% on their holiday costs,” Saatcioglu explained.
“Those who missed out on early bookings had to pay higher prices during the busy July-August period.”
High occupancy expected in hotels through November
Ali Kızıldag, General Manager of Calista Luxury Resort Hotel, confirmed that their hotel has 90% occupancy, with expectations for high levels to continue until the end of October.
“The September, October, and November period has been warmer than usual, so hotel occupancy has remained strong,” Kizildag said.
He also noted the diversity of guests coming from countries like Russia, Germany, the U.K., Romania and Hungary.
“Despite schools reopening, the domestic market is still active, and conferences, seminars, and dealer meetings have started,” Kizildag added.
