Exports of fishery products from Türkiye’s Black Sea region rose by around 6% in 2025, surpassing $400 million, according to data from the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKIB).
Between January and December 2025, a total of 55,893 tons of fishery products were exported from 18 provinces in the region to 36 countries, generating $400.9 million in revenue.
The figure marked an increase from $379 million recorded in 2024.
Russia remained the top destination for Black Sea fisheries exports, with shipments worth $165.9 million. It was followed by Greece with $45.6 million and the United Kingdom with $33.6 million.
Exports were also made to new markets compared with the previous year, including Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia and Indonesia.
DKIB Chairman Saffet Kalyoncu said 2025 had been a productive year for fisheries exports, noting that the growth highlighted the production capacity and competitiveness of Black Sea exporters.
Kalyoncu said Russia, EU countries, and the U.K. remain the region’s main markets, while new target countries have been identified in the Middle East, Far East and Latin America.
He added that exporters aim to further increase figures by focusing on higher value-added products and prioritizing sustainable production, stressing that expectations for future fisheries exports remain high.
